She’s traveled the world over, but has yet to find a burger that’s better than the Big Buford. Or a better Strawberry shake for that matter. Ms. Malcolm joined Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc. as Senior Vice President of Human Resources in February 2010. A real people person, she is responsible for overseeing all recruitment, training, and human resources activities for the company. “Our People, they are what makes Checkers, Checkers. I enjoy all of the wonderful people I get to work with every day. They are welcoming, smart, and are always willing to go the extra mile to offer assistance to a guest and ensure that, as a team, we are successful.” Ms. Malcolm also invests her time to people in the community by volunteering with a number of organizations and serving as a board member of the Tampa Bay Crisis Center.&break;Before packing her bags and heading to Checkers, she worked for Sweetbay Supermarket, a Florida grocery chain with more than 10,000 employees and over $1 billion in annual sales. While there she held the role of Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development. Prior to Sweetbay, Mrs. Malcolm held a number of HR leadership roles with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., in Bentonville, Arkansas, and Disney Worldwide Services in Orlando, Florida. Mrs. Malcolm has more than 13 years of experience creating a workplace that brings out the “Best in people”. Surprisingly, before Ms. Malcolm lent her expertise to the world of HR, she kept her bags packed for 10 years with the IBM Corporation, helping businesses around the United States grow with technology. Ms. Malcolm earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.
